Purpose Domain:

Much of this Domain is described in Working with Values (1995).

Details of the book, with download links for the chapters and their Tables and Matrixes, are provided in this Satellite.

Here the task is to be systematic, fill in the gaps and extend to previously unknown topics.

Unlike the 6 other Domains (but similar to the Root Domain), the Purpose Domain contains a Tertiary Hierarchy which generates Society-oriented Ethical Controls.

The Fundamentals

Levels of Purpose (PH6)

See Ch.3 and Ch.4.

A Worthwhile Project (PH6K)

See Ch.13.

Note: In the book, the Tree is labeled as the "Image of Intentionality". The investigation of naming led to a more precise and descriptive choice.

Realizing Values (PsH6)

See Ch.10 and Ch.12.

Studies of multiple structural hierarchies has led to minor adjustments in naming the Grouping Requirements (top labels) and the resulting Group States (bottom labels). The current version is shown below and includes the projected root-level psychosocial pressure.

Ch.11 provides a ten-fold classification of organisations based on the communal functions defined by the Tetrads. As well as four types with a single function, there are three with dual functions, two with triple functions, and one with all four functions.

A Community Evolution (PsH6K)

The book contained the first Tree to be developed in THEE, and this potential was not developed for the PsH6 Structural Hierarchy. The current version is shown below with the subjective layout as well.

The People and the Powerful in Politics: Tree showing channels of influence. Framework tree of participation and change: The People versus the Sources of Power

The Standard Controls

Ethical Choice Methods (PH'6)

See Ch.6

Also see provisional analysis of pairing and what may be called "ethical auras":

Maturation of Politics (PH'6C)

This is posted in detail in the Political Maturation section of the Politics Satellite.

Determinants of Governance (PH'6CHK)

This is posted in detail in the Political Choice section of the Politics Satellite .

The framework was also examined in the Architecture Room as part of the investigation of root projections and the hypothesis that psychosocial pressures existed to energize the meeting of Domain-based Primal Needs. See the PH'6CK account here.

Governance was chosen as an example of the difference between a framework that is requisite, and a framework that takes account of my specific situation and interests. See account and Tree diagrams.

Here is the current version of the self-centred Governance Tree:

The Legitimation of Politics (PH'6CsHK)

This is posted in detail in the section dealing with political legitimacy and the handling of tensions in the Politics Satellite.
